Built in 1804 as a private home, this beautiful and imposing red sandstone building is situated in 9 acres of parkland, offering a quiet and peaceful setting for dining, business functions, marriages and wedding receptions. The Greenhill is licensed to hold civil marriages in a choice of four rooms with seating capacities ranging from 10 to 400.

We are renowned for the quality of our wedding receptions and it is advisable to book well in advance - up to 18 months in fact. Some months are more popular for weddings than others and most people book for Saturdays, but we are receiving an increasing number of enquiries for mid-week weddings, for which we can offer a favourable discount.

We can offer complete packages, but prefer to discuss your own individual requirements and put together a personal plan for your very important day.

We can even offer you a helicopter landing area!

Help can be given on many aspects of wedding requirements, from flowers to string quartets, cakes to stationary and from dresses to cars. If you have any queries just ask and we will do our best to help.

The following are included in the price quoted for your wedding reception:

• Table plan
• Printed menus
• Floral decoration for the top table
• Large floral pedestal display
• Silver cake stand and knife
• Master of ceremonies
• Bridal suite for the bride and bridegroom

A number of rooms are available for guests attending the wedding. These will be reserved on receipt of written confirmation and an accompanying deposit of £20 per person. Please contact us for full details of room rates.

Booking and Cancellation Policy

Bookings will be confirmed by the Hotel on receipt of a non-refundable deposit of £250.00. If the booking is cancelled more than 12 months before the date of the wedding there will be no additional charge.

Cancellations 12 to 6 months before the wedding there will be a charge of 25% of the total costs.6 to 3 months before the wedding 50% of the costs and under 3 months 75% of the total costs. All charges are made on final numbers, which must be given to the hotel 72 hours prior to the event.  Full and final payment will be due not later than 14 days after the reception.

The prices quoted for the wedding reception are current for the next three months, should your function be in advance of that time the price may vary according to market conditions, the rate of VAT and changes to duty on wines, beers and spirits. Any changes will be limited to a maximum of 10%.
