The Greenhill Hotel, a Georgian mansion was built in 1804 as a private home, this beautiful and imposing red sandstone building is set in nine acres of parkland, offering a quiet and peaceful for accommodation, dining, wedding services, receptions and business functions.


We are renowned for the quality of our wedding receptions and it is advisable to book well in advance - up to 18 months in fact. Some months are more popular for weddings than others and most people book for Saturdays, but we are receiving an increasing number of enquiries for mid-week weddings, for which we can offer a favourable discount.


Situated on the A595 ar Red Dial, mid-way between Carlisle and Cockermouth, the Greenhill is centrally located to serve the conference needs of North, Central, East and West Cumbria. We provide excellent facilities from a small meeting to a large conference of up to 400 delegates, from staff training to a major product launch.
